The power of your words

In the same way that there are natural laws that govern the world around us, there are spiritual laws or eternal principles that govern the Kingdom of God.

Today, I want to show you one of those supernatural laws and how to put it to work in your life. God has given us a powerful way to obtain His promises, but it is up to each of us to make the choice to put this principle to work in our lives. The spiritual principle I want to show you, is the Biblical principle of confessing or speaking the promises of God over and into your life.

Most people are not aware that their words are spiritual containers that are filled with blessing or cursing – fear or faith – life or death -and that their words have the spiritual power to set the course of their lives.

That is why is so important that we are conscious of the things that we say. In fact, the Bible has a lot to say about the power of our words…

1. Where there are careless and flippant words you will always find sin (Proverbs 10:19)

2. Your words will establish your life in good treasure or evil treasure (Matthew 10:35-37)

3. Words have the power to move mountains and change the world around us  (Mark 11:22-23)

If we are going to be victorious over the attacks of the enemy we have to think, act and speak in line with the Word of God.

Let’s look closer at Mark 11:22-23…

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

All you have to do is read this passage from the gospel of Mark to see that “saying” what you believe is just as important as believing the right things.

The power in the Word of God is released when we intentionally line ourselves up with God will for our lives by speaking His promises over our lives and circumstances. When we speak the Word of God we release the same creative ability and power that God used to create the earth. The things that we see in this earth today, from the sky to the animals, are the result of words that were spoken by God (Genesis 1).

I challenge you to find God’s promises in the Bible that pertain to your right now circumstances and begin to speak them, in great faith and expectancy, over your life  — and in doing so, you will frame your life with the Word of God, shut the devil out, and plant faith into your heart. Your words establish your life for good or evil.

The choice is yours – So choose life! Choose blessing! Choose to live saturated in the favor of God!
